News & Events BARRY COBB ELECTED CHAIR OF THE LITIGATION SECTION OF THE NORTH CAROLINA BAR ASSOCIATION  

RALEIGH, NC (July 2011) – Barry Cobb, partner in Raleigh law office, Yates, McLamb & Weyher, L.L.P. (YMW), has been elected to serve as Chair of the Litigation Section of the North Carolina Bar Association.  Mr. Cobb began his service in the Litigation Section in 2005, when he was selected as one of the Ethics Committee Co-Chairs for the Section, a post he held for two terms.  He served as a Council Member in 2006, and then was elected Treasurer, Secretary, and Vice Chair before becoming Chairman effective July 1, 2011.
 
Mr. Cobb’s practice concentrates in the representation of physicians, hospitals, and nursing homes in medical malpractice matters.  He has also provided risk management consulting services for hospital clients and has represented physicians, dentists, and pharmacists before their respective North Carolina licensing boards.
 
The Litigation Section is the largest section of the North Carolina Bar Association consisting of over 3,000 members from the plaintiff’s bar, defense bar, and commercial litigation bar.  Mr. Cobb is excited about the opportunity to work on issues of importance to litigators across the state.
