Andrew C. Buckner was born in Sylva, North Carolina in 1970.  He graduated from Morehead State University with a Bachelor of Music Education degree in 1992 and returned to the mountains of western North Carolina to teach high school for several years.  Mr. Buckner attended law school at the University of Kentucky, graduated with honors in 1999, and was elected to the Order of the Coif.  While in law school, he served as an Associate Editor of The Kentucky Law Journal and represented his school at the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot held in Vienna, Austria.
 
Mr. Buckner’s practice areas include civil litigation in a wide variety of substantive areas, including commercial litigation, construction litigation, and medical malpractice defense.  He is a certified Superior Court Mediator.  In 2009, Mr. Buckner was selected for inclusion in North Carolina Super Lawyers¹ “Rising Stars” edition (a category for attorneys 40 years old and younger) by peer evaluation.  He joined Yates, McLamb & Weyher, L.L.P. in 2011.
 
Outside of the office, Mr. Buckner enjoys camping, fishing, golf, and spending time with his two Boston Terriers.
