Kathrine E. Fisher, a partner of Yates, McLamb & Weyher, L.L.P., is a trial attorney whose practice is primarily in the area of professional malpractice and personal injury claims.  She has litigated matters in Superior Court districts across the State of North Carolina, the North Carolina Industrial Commission, as well as the Federal Courts of North Carolina.  Ms. Fisher has also handled numerous matters on appeal before the North Carolina Court of Appeals, North Carolina Supreme Court, the United States Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and as counsel of record before the United States Supreme Court.

Ms. Fisher received her Bachelors of Science degree in Landscape Architecture from The Ohio State University in 1991 and a Juris Doctor Degree from Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University in 2001.  While at Campbell, Ms. Fisher was selected as a Webster’s Scholar and served as research assistant for Webster’s Real Estate Law in North Carolina.  She was a member of the John Marshall Moot Court Competition team, finishing fifth in the nation.  Upon graduation, Ms. Fisher was inducted into the Order of Barristers.

After completing her legal education, Ms. Fisher served as law clerk to the Honorable J. John M. Tyson on the North Carolina Court of Appeals.  She then joined the firm of Patterson, Dilthey, Clay & Bryson, L.L.P. in Raleigh, where she practiced in the areas of insurance defense, including medical malpractice defense.  Ms. Fisher joined Yates, McLamb & Weyher, L.L.P. in 2007.

She lives in Raleigh with her husband, Matthew Fisher, who is also an attorney, and son, Tyler.  She enjoys designing outdoor spaces for her friends and family, working in her garden, reading, and spending time with her family.
