Kelly A. Brewer was born at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois.  Growing up she spent time living in Illinois, Alabama, Virginia, Hawaii, and Japan.  Upon graduating from high school, she moved to Holly Springs, North Carolina.  She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2008 and graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 2011.
 
Ms. Brewer interned with Valentine & McFadyen, P.C. and the Law Office of David Watters, PLLC after her first year of law school.  After completing her second year, she clerked for Yates, McLamb & Weyher, L.L.P.  During her third year of law school, Ms. Brewer interned at the State Agency Department of the North Carolina Attorney General’s Office.
 
While in law school, Ms. Brewer served as a Dean’s Fellow from 2009-2011.  In addition, she was a staff member and a note and comment editor on the North Carolina Journal of International Law and Commercial Regulation.  She also served as the Vice-President of the Disability Law Organization and as a committee member of the Student Bar Association.
 
Upon successful completion of law school and passing the North Carolina Bar, Ms. Brewer joined Yates, McLamb & Weyher, L.L.P. in the fall of 2011.  She practices in the area of medical malpractice defense litigation.
 
Ms. Brewer lives in Raleigh and, in her spare time, enjoys cheering on the UNC Tar Heels, cooking, reading, running, and spending time with friends and family.
