John Walton Minier was born on June 19, 1962 in New Jersey.
He is a 1984 graduate of Dartmouth College and a 1988
graduate of Duke University School of Law, where he served
as a member of the Duke Law Journal and graduated
with honors. After working briefly as an associate for
Gibson, Dunn, and Crutcher in New York City and Hunton &
Williams in Raleigh, North Carolina, he joined Yates,
McLamb & Weyher, LLP in 1992 and became a partner in
2000.
Mr. Minier
devotes his practice exclusively to medical malpractice
defense and has been lead counsel in many trials. He has
tried cases on behalf of physicians in the specialties of
cardiology, gastroenterology, general surgery, vascular
surgery, emergency medicine, OB/GYN, internal medicine and
family practice. He also has defended hospitals,
nursing homes and individual nurses.
Mr. Minier has
two sons, Sam and Jack, whose teams he has coached in
baseball, football, basketball and soccer. In his time
away from the office, Mr. Minier enjoys spending time with
his sons, playing golf, and snow skiing.
