Mrs. Janicek was born in Youngstown, Ohio in 1982. She
received her Bachelor of Nursing degree from the Ohio State
University in 2004. Prior to attending law school, Mrs.
Janicek began her career as a registered nurse at the Ohio
State University Medical Center in the surgical intensive
care unit in Columbus, Ohio. While in law school, Mrs.
Janicek interned at the American Medical Association in
Chicago, Illinois,
and clerked for Yates, McLamb, & Weyher. In addition, after
completing her first year, Mrs. Janicek returned to nursing
at the University of North Carolina Medical Center in Chapel
Hill, practicing in the surgical-trauma intensive care
unit. Upon successful completion of law
school and passing the North Carolina Bar, Mrs.
Janicek joined Yates, McLamb & Weyher in the fall of 2009.
She practices in the area of medical malpractice defense
litigation.
While in law school, Mrs. Janicek received the CALI
Excellence for the Future Award, given to the student who
achieves the highest grade in a particular class
(Constitutional Law).
Additionally, she served as Executive Editor for the North
Carolina Journal of Law & Technology.
Mrs. Janicek
and her husband, Josh, live in Raleigh. In their spare
time, they enjoy traveling, visiting with friends and
family, and attending concerts and sporting events.
