RALEIGH, NC (November 11, 2009) — Raleigh attorney Jennifer (“Jennie”) D. Maldonado, a partner at Yates, McLamb & Weyher, L.L.P. (YMW), spoke at the North Carolina Bar Association’s Insurance Law Update on November 6. The Law Update program was designed to inform and excite counsel for individual and commercial policyholders and counsel on the insurance company side about the many practice areas of insurance coverage, bad faith and regulatory compliance.

Maldonado’s presentation, titled “Hot Topics in Professional Liability Errors and Omissions Insurance Coverage,” addressed common insuring agreements, standards for reporting claims, examples of covered claims and exclusions, and some of the most recent cases and trends.

Maldonado received her law degree from Campbell University in 1998 and her practice at YMW focuses on the defense of personal injury and commercial matters, construction and coverage litigation.  In addition to this presentation, Maldonado has taught seminars in litigation case management, medical records translation, settlement strategy, success at mediation and accident investigation. She currently serves as a member of the Minorities in the Profession Committee and State Bar Diversity Task Force.
